Trevor Noah Discloses The Reason He Left Daily Show After 8-year

Former Daily Show host Trevor Noah has recently opened up on why decided  to leave the show after an 8-year.

According to Trevor, he felt it was time for a change, further admitting that he had, at times, neglected his personal life in favor of his career.

“The pandemic was a moment where many people were forced to stay indoors, but I didn’t stop. I was making the show from home. I had prioritized work over everything else, and my friends and family came second. I would only see my friends when I wasn’t working, and everyone knew that. During the pandemic, I also realized I had been at the show for eight years and that I couldn’t do it forever. There were many factors that led to me leaving The Daily Show, but ultimately, I felt it was time.”

In December 2022, while hosting the show, Trevor bid farewell to his fans after eight years and he took time to give his remarks.

“Don’t be sad. It doesn’t feel like seven years. Well, not at the desk. Obviously, I went home in between. But still, it’s been a wild ride.”

Noah had taken over The Daily Show in 2015 from long-time host Jon Stewart, whose 16-year run had turned the show into a late-night favorite.

The comedian worked as a correspondent on the show for a few months before being selected as the new host.

Trevor also revealed that he faced a lot of hate when he first started hosting the show.

“It wasn’t easy. I would receive messages from people telling me to go back to where I came from.”
