University student who was charged with publishing false information about a funeral procession and sharing an image with misleading caption wants the charges reviewed.
The university student through his lawyer Danstan Omari stated that he wants to know whether President Willaim Ruto will be called to testify in the matter.
According to the Director of Public Prosecutions, David Mokaya was alleged to have posted an image on his X account ‘Landlord @bozgabi’ on November 13th claiming it was the body of President Willaim Ruto leaving a funeral home.

The student is charged with publishing casket on Twitter. I have written to the DPP to review the charges on the citizen’s right to criticize their leader, especially their President.

The accused was arrested in Eldoret, the issue of jurisdiction should be addressed in this matter. The President has not been listed as a witness, and we would like to know whether he will be called to testify.

Regarding the matter, the court directed that it will be mentioned on January 28th when the issue of jurisdiction will be decided.
