Senator Edwin Sifuna, Sarah Hassan among Kenyans Honored with Presidential Awards

Nairobi Senator Edwin Sifuna and Sarah Hassan have been feted with Presidential Awards.

They were among the 500 people who were honored by President William Ruto on 12th December 2024 during the Jamhuri days celebrations which took place at Uhuru Gardens.

Nairobi Senator was among the 74 people of chief of order of the Burning Spear (first class) who were awarded during a ceremony at State House Nairobi.

The order of Burning Spears award is divided into three categories: Chief (CBS), Elder (EBS) and Moran (MBS) and honors public dignitaries, professionals and exemplary members of the Public Service.

Other honors conferred with the Head of the Republic included Order of the Grand warrior, Moran of the Order of the Golden Heart and the Elder of the Order of the Golden Heart.

Sarah Hassan was among the 142 Kenyans awarded with Order of the Grand warrior Awards for their outstanding service to the country in various capacities such as putting their lives at risk for the good of the country.

Prince Indah and Brenda Wairimu were also among those feted with Order of the Grand Warrior Awards.

Inspector general of police Douglas Kanja was also among the six Kenyans feted with Moran of the Order Golden heart.

These awards are often given to Deputy Presidents, Speakers of the National Assembly and Senate, Cabinet Secretaries, the First and Second ladies, Kenya Defense Forces chief of Staff and Head of the Public Service.
