Justice for Chiloba: Jacktone Odhiambo Sentenced to 50 Years for Murder

Jacktone Odhiambo has been convicted for the murder of LGBTQ activist Edwin Chiloba.

The convict has been sentenced to 50 years in prison by a court in Eldoret.

While the ruling was being stated, Justice Reuben Nyakundi described the murder as well-planned and premeditated act of malice.

He added that the accused would have faced a death penalty.

He also noted that Odhiambo’s actions were carried out with deliberate intent and cruelty.

Edwin Chiloba was found stuffed inside metal box by the roadside last year.

According to reports, Chiloba and the convict were last seen walking on the staircase to their shared apartment after a night out.

The reports also stated that Chiloba was sexually assaulted by Jacktone before killing him.

His motive for the killings were not revealed at that moment.

His sentencing had been scheduled for December 16th.

Jacktone had pleaded not guilty when he was first arraigned in court.

A government pathologist said Mr. Chiloba had died from suffocation. Socks were stuffed into his mouth and a piece of jeans was wrapped around his mouth and nose.
