The Ministry of Education has refuted to claims that if plans to change University entry requirements for the 2024 Kenya Certificate of Secondary Education (KCSE).
According to the claims, the government was planning to raise the University entry grade from C+ to grade B-.

This was after Kenyans expressed concerns after a controversial article that claimed the Ministry was planning to raise the entry grades ahead of the release of the KCSE exams.
The CS had announced plans during a press briefing where he emphasized the importance of maintaining the quality of graduates in a highly competitive job market.
According to the controversial article, the announcement marked the departure from the known University entry grade of C+.
The latest clarification came after marking of the KCSE examinations neared its conclusion with examiners expected to finalize the process before the start of 2025 school calendar.
The clarification also followed a week after the Education CS announced that the exam results would be released in January 2025 and not December this year due to delays caused by several factors.
The CS revealed that the delays were caused by high number of candidates who sat for the exams.
