Cyclists Ride From Mombasa to Kakamega To Raise Funds For Arthritis Treatment

Group of Cyclists have journeyed from Mombasa to Kakamega.

The main aim of the journey was to create awareness on arthritis and collect funds to complete the construction of medical facility to help treat people suffering from the condition and other related conditions.

The collections of the funds were for the facility based in Likuyani, Kakamega County which will also act as a resource center.

Many people living with arthritis have reduced productivity and end up having to retire early because of challenges they face in doing everyday activities due to their condition. 

Ali Shaban and Moses Ogola who were among the cyclists who participated in the drive said.

Arthritis is also called joint inflammation.

The main cause of arthritis can also be the result of disease infection, genetic defect, injury or overuse.

The treatments consist of medication, physiotherapy or sometimes surgery which helps reduce symptoms and improve quality of life.

Arthritis can be prevented by maintaining a balanced lifestyle.
