Several students from St. Anne’s school Makadara have been locked out of school due to lack of school fees.
According to the reports, the administration demanded they should pay full school fees before getting into the school.
This happened during the first reporting day to school 2025.

This sudden reaction created a lot of concerns not only to Kenyans but to politicians as well who did not take it lightly.
Kenyan politician Hon. George Aladwa intervened and took to his social media account to report the situation which made a lot of Kenyans to praise and appreciate him.
Following reports that some students at St. Anne’s girl’s secondary were left stranded outside the premises, I immediately dispatched my team to access the situation. I have since instructed the school management to grant access to the students, and I am pleased to confirm that the situation has now been resolved, with all students safely inside the school. Parents are kindly advised to remain patient and refrain from any further concerns at this time.

The MP Aladwa wrote on his Facebook account.
Senator Karen Nyamu also reacted towards the situation saying that the school principal has shocked the nation for being insensitive and still having girls of high school age under her care.
The principal of St Anne’s Makadara you have shocked the Nation. Imagine being so insensitive and still having girls of high school age under your care. Thank you Hon Aladwa for intervening. It’s a sad day for the girl child!

Other Kenyans also suggested that the school principal should be charged for negligence.
This also prompted MP Robert Alai to demand arrest and charge of the principal for doing such inhumane to young girls who reportedly had come from different counties in Kenya such as Kisii and Garissa.
The Principal of St. Annes Girls’ school in Makadara should be arrested and charged for doing this to the young girls. How do you lock students out of school when some travelled from as far as Garrissa?
Alai stated on his X account.
