Afc Leopards Suffer a Thorough Whip by Fc Talanta Amidist Matchday Unveiling of New Kits

AFC Leopards unveiled their new jerseys today over a heavy defeat against FC Talanta at the Dandora Stadium. Normally, football clubs believe in unveiling new kits after winning a match, but for AFC Leopards, this was unfortunate after a long wait for the Singapore-made Mafro jersey designs. It has been a week of mixed reactions and feelings both to the Ingwe players and fans as a whole. First, it started by the players boycotting training citing non-payment of their December salaries. The team\’s management came to aid and on Thursday paid each player Fifteen Thousand Kenya Shillings but the players still refused to train claiming they needed their dues in full. Later on the teams management intervened and the players agreed to train on Friday. On the same Friday the Club unveiled their new set of kits produced by a Singaporean brand named Mafro. Mixed reactions from fans roomed their social media pages with disappointment over the nonpayment of salaries and joy over the unveiling of the arrival of the new kits. Come match day, the players arrived in their new cuts and of course with more excitement to unveil the kits with a win. Things seemed to be working right as Boniface Munyendo capitalized on the captain Clifton Miheso attack which the Talanta defender failed to clear gifting the Fred Ambani-coached side the opening goal in the 11th minute into the match. The celebrations could not last as Talanta\’s Kevin Owino\’s direct free kick leveled the scores three minutes later to pile pressure on Afc. Still not done with the Leopards, Alex Kipruto converted into the net from a Machaka punched-back shot ensuring Talanta the lead in the 27th minute of the match. Bach from the break in the 50th minute, Talanta striker Emmanuel Osoro pressed high, capitalized on Ingwe\’s goalkeeper Katasi error during the build-up from the back, and scored the third goal in an empty net. As goes the saying it is never over until it is over, Talanta\’s Alex Kipruto pounced on a failed clearance from an Afc Leopards defender making a solo effort and putting the ball inside the net to ensure a sealed match for Talanta and four goals for his team. Afc Leopards Maxwell Odongo rose to stage to try and salvage matters as he scored the Leopards second goal but it was too late as the referee clocked his watch to signal the end of the match and a defeat to the Leopards.

Manchester United vs Arsenal

Ruben Amorim’s secret that saw Manchester United knock Arsenal out of FA Cup

Manchester United did the unthinkable after knocking Arsenal out of the FA Cup away at the Emirates Stadium. Despite being reduced to 10 men early in the second half, United showed unprecedented resilience to stop Arsenal from scoring in open play. Arsenal were lucky to get a penalty in the second half after Kai Haverts went down in the box despite being the culprit by making contact with Harry Maguire. United number two goalkeeper Altay Bayındır bravely stopped Martin Ødegaard’s shot to keep the game level, with United gaining more confidence to take the game to the end of extra time. Amorim’s secret revealed The biggest positive out of the game was how the team defended even after going down to 10 men, which would have been difficult for any side, especially away at home. However, in the two weeks that United have not had midweek games, it looks like they have been able to work on their defensive structure, which has really improved. Arsenal found it hard to break down United as even the defender knew exactly where to be, which was a huge sign of improvement from the United of old. If this had been an Erik ten Hag side that went down to 10 men, the final result would have been totally different, as Arsenal would probably have ended the game with several goals. However, Amorim has found a way to ensure that every player understands what they need to do, which has surprised even the opposition. In the coming few games, it will be great to see if the newfound secret to unlock his team’s strength really works or if United used the spirit of big games to get results.

Mikel Arteta

Mikel Arteta Appears to Blame Carabao Cup Ball after Loss to Newcastle United

Mikel Arteta has responded to Arsenal’s heavy Carabao Cup semi-final loss to Newcastle United. Arsenal were beaten at home, with goals from Alexander Isak and Anthony Gordon putting them far ahead of the 2nd leg at St. James’ Park. Arsenal were a shadow of themselves, and despite getting a few clearcut chances, they couldn’t score. Arteta reacts to the heavy loss In his interview, Arsenal manager Mikel Arteta appeared to lay blame on the kind of ball used in the League Cup. In his own words, Arteta said the ball was different from the Premier League ball and that his team had to adapt to it. “It’s just different, different to the Premier League ball and you have to adapt to that because it flies different and when you touch it the grip is very different as well, so you have to adapt to that,” he said. 🗣️ Mikel Arteta on the ball used in the Carabao Cup: “It’s just different, very different to a Premier League ball and you have to adapt to that because it flies differently…” ⚽️pic.twitter.com/NZLIVjdzLj — DailyAFC (@DailyAFC) January 7, 2025 Many will see this as a blatant excuse for not turning up in the game, considering how fans expected a better performance. The loss has given the Gunners an uphill task, and they will have to produce a near-perfect performance in the second leg to claim their spot in the final.

Manchester United Battling Relegation As Ruben Amorim Admits to Being Huge Embarrassment

Manchester United’s embarrassing two-nil loss to Newcastle United at home made it three home losses in the league for the first time in decades. The match started in the worst way possible as two crosses in the first 20 minutes saw Newcastle go two up with goals from Isak and Joelinton. A 30-minute substitution to replace Joshua Zirkzee with Kobbie Maino was another sign that the manager got his team wrong, and Newcastle were running the show. Eriksen and Casemiro couldn’t handle the opponent’s strength and pace in the middle of the park and had to bring in Mainoo’s energy and composure, which turned the game a bit. However, this was too late, as Newcastle went on to win the game, leaving Manchester United 14th in the league and much closer to the bottom than the top. His selection will also be questioned, as Casemiro and Eriksen lacked the agility to handle the midfield, and this was pretty clear even under the previous manager. Having young and energetic players such as Toby Collyer and Mainoo on the bench was clearly a bad choice, and maybe he should consider this going forward. “The team is not improving” 💬 Ruben Amorim admits it’s “embarrassing to be a Manchester United coach” 🔴 pic.twitter.com/NwW7fuACgW — Sky Sports News (@SkySportsNews) December 31, 2024 Marcus returns Marcus Rashford returned to the bench but was an unused sub, with Amorim noting that he was more focused on the team than Rashford. United head to Anfield on Sunday, January 5, in their first game of 2025. With Liverpool flying high, they could face another huge embarrassment. The fans will be waiting to see a change in the personnel, especially at wingback, and maybe a much-improved side that can get a result in the rival match.

Manchester United Reportedly Make Offer for Paris Saint Germain Left-Back Nuno Mendes

Reports from France are alleging that Manchester United have made an offer for Portugual left-back Nuno Mendes. This is according to reliable football journalist Fabrice Hawkings, who is believed to know a bit more about the alleged offer. It is said that Mendes’ negotiations over a new deal with the French giants have not borne any fruit after his £34m a few years back. 🚨💣 BREAKING: Manchester United have made an offer for PSG left-back Nuno Mendes! The player wants to leave PSG. #MUFC [@FabriceHawkins] pic.twitter.com/UrMBFJW05x — mufcmpb (@mufcMPB) December 27, 2024 The player has a contract until the end of 2026, which means there are still about 18 months remaining in the deal. However, if Paris fails to lock him down to a new deal, they could end up losing him on a free in about a year, when he is eligible to speak to other clubs. Mendes was part of current United manager Ruben Amorim’s team, which won the Portuguese league at Sporting CP before being sold to PSG. It is believed that he would be open to working with Amorim again, especially in the biggest club in the world. With a few days to the January transfer window, Manchester United are expected to be active in the market as they look to strengthen their squad, especially in some key positions. Only time will tell if they will have the needed resources to activate such a move, as they are dealing with many issues surrounding their finances.

Despite being at the top of the table and the biggest contender for the title, Trent might have already seen greener pastures elsewhere and not held out for a huge payday in Merseyside. Liverpool has been trying to tie the three aforementioned stars to new deals but hasn’t been able to agree on any so far. The club hopes to keep its wage structure as low as possible.

Man United

Manchester United Have to Focus on Academy, Promising Talent and Not Overpriced Signings

After their 2-0 loss to Wolverhampton Wanderers away from home, it was clear that Manchester United was missing not only quality but also the right mentality. Bruno Fernandes’s early second-half red card was a blatant show of losing it, as he had already been cautioned early in the first half. The players seemed to lose their minds and failed to control the game, leading to Wolves’ goal from a straight corner. Garnacho’s mistake that led to the second goal also clearly showed that the team needed players who were not only of great quality but also had the right mindset. However, United bought a significant number of players under recently sacked Erik ten Hag who had the quality, e.g. Rasmus Højlund, Antony, and Mason Mount, with incredible price tags. Despite their great qualities, they seem to lack the drive and mental strength to turn bad moments into good, which is what great players do. Rasmus has officially arrived 🔥#MUFC || #PL pic.twitter.com/0XYA4kfRo9 — Manchester United (@ManUtd) February 13, 2024 What Manchester United need going forward Looking into the future, United should not only focus on great talent but also amazing mental strength for players who can handle the United shirt. First on the list could be the young players in the academy who seem to be great prospects for the future; they include the likes of Chido Obi-Martin, Ethan Williams, Ethan Ennis, Harry Amass, Dan Gore, Jack Fletcher, Amir Ibragimov and others. This can be improved with young quality players in the Premier League and other top leagues who have shown to be great at football and also passionate about the game. Manchester City’s Decline Clear as Arsenal Get Closer to Liverpool after Huge Win

Manchester City have now failed to win 11 games in 12, a run that has led them to drop down the table, away from the Champions League Places. Their loss against Aston Villa on Saturday, December 21, was another reason to worry about a team that looks away from their Champions title. Erling Hallad failed to score once again, and now the blame game has turned to him despite manager Pep Guardiola noting a few weeks back that he might not be good enough. Pep Guardiola while watching Aston Villa vs. Man City 😓 pic.twitter.com/nrS4aD2pTB — ESPN UK (@ESPNUK) December 21, 2024 One could sense that City weren’t up to it yesterday, and Rodgers’s second goal, a former City player, showed how far they’d fallen that no one saw them as favourites. Pep will continue to claim they need players back, and maybe the January market will give him a chance to buy a few integral players for his squad. Arsenal shining bright As for title challengers Arsenal, they did even one better to beat Palace 5-1 away from home, a team that nearly forced a comeback in their Carabao Cup fixture at the Emirates earlier in the week. ⏱️ Half-time: Crystal Palace 1-3 Arsenal Will the Gunners hold on to three points?#CRYARS — Premier League (@premierleague) December 21, 2024 Gabriel Jesus, who had scored a hatrick in that mid-week fixture, did even one better by scoring two early goals to put Arsenal in a cruising position as they easily sealed the 3 points. After a disappointing draw with Everton at home last weekend, this was a great show of strength to put Liverpool on their heels as they travel to Tottenham Hotspurs today, Sunday, December 22. Arsenal are now just 3 points behind Liverpool albeit two games in hand, and a point behind Chelsea who also play today away to Everton.
