Blow to Gachagua as the court declines to stop the presentation of his impeachment motion.
Gachaguas’s allies had moved to court to try and stop the tabling from happening.

High Court judge Bahati Mwamuye has declined to give an interim order to stop the presentation of impeachment motion against the DP in the parliament.
This comes after Gachagua’s allies led by Cleophas Malala who is a former UDA Secretary General moved to the court to try and stop the tabling from happening.
According to Malala through his lawyer Mwenda Njagi, he wanted the court to grant order to stop the tabling further arguing that the National Assembly and Senate were currently unlawfully constituted and therefore lacked the mandate to debate the impeachment.
However the judge has cited the matter as urgent and directed the petitioner to serve the National Assembly and the Senate together with other interested parties by the close of business.
The respondents and the interested parties have until October 3 to respond to the issues leveled against them and serve the court with the same response.
The case will be mentioned before the High Court on October 7, 2024, for further directions and issuance of orders.
