Gachagua Claims He Helped IG Kanja Secure the IG Job Only to Withdraw My Security

Former Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua has recently alleged that he helped Douglas Kanja become the police Inspector General. According to Gachagua, despite the favours that he extended to the police IG and despite being his neighbour from Nyeri County, Kanja still did not help when his security was withdrawn. He moreover blamed the IG for failing to arrest those who planned his attack while attending a funeral service in Limuru, Kiambu County. ”I would like to ask the Inspector General of Police Douglas Kanja, he is a neighbour and a man from here. You know the people who attacked us, their pictures are in the public and most of them have criminal records. Why are you not arresting them and taking them to court? Douglas Kanja who removed my security personnel, I am the one who helped him to get the job.” Gachaagua further insisted that the IG will one day have to be answerable to the people over the betrayal, relating to the recent attack on him and his allies as an orchestrated move by the government while calling for the apprehension of the goons. ”We know that the goons were organized by the government. We know that Kanja will one day have to answer that question,” Gachagua noted.

MC Jessy Questions MCSK for demanding 200k payment ahead of his upcoming comedy show

Renowned Kenyan Comedian MC Jessy, has called out the Music Copyright Society of Kenya for demanding a Ksh 200,000 payment ahead of his upcoming comedy show. In an interview with SPM Buzz, MC Jessy expressed his frustration, revealing that MCSK had issued stern warnings, including threats of legal action, if the payment was not made. “I received a very threatening call, and I even have a recording. They said if we don’t pay Ksh200,000 to MCSK, we won’t be allowed to hold the show. They even claimed I’d be arrested if we went ahead with it. It was a disrespectful call; I felt belittled as an artist,” he said. The comedian went on to question the basis for MCSK’s demand, especially since his performance does not rely on music. “My question is, how did they come up with that figure? They assumed I’ll play Kenyan music. I told them, ‘Who told you I’m going to play music?’”  According to MC Jessy, while he plans to incorporate Kenyan music into his comedy routine, he would prefer to compensate the individual artists directly rather than paying MCSK. “I’ll contact the artists and ask how much I should pay them directly. I know they’d earn more that way than by going through MCSK. So, I will not pay MCSK. Let them come and arrest me.”  Jessy further noted that the demand has created unnecessary pressure as he works to ensure the event’s success, noting the financial strain he has already endured in organizing and promoting the show.

US Representative Huldah Momanyi Addresses the Potential Immigrants of Kenyans by Trump

Minnesota House Representative Huldah Momanyi Hiltsley recently sent a subtle message to US President-elect Donald Trump on the prospect of deportation. Speaking during a TV interview on Saturday, Momanyi noted that it was practically impossible for US President-elect Donald Trump to deport immigrants, including Kenyans. According to her, due to the sheer number of immigrants in the US, which she claims is so overwhelming, deportation would have adverse effects on the US economy. “Even if you don’t deport half of the immigrants, you are literally crippling half of the US economy,” she said. She further noted that there were rights in place that offered some degree of protection to immigrants in the US. “So what we are hearing is rhetoric. There is some truth to that but we also have the law that affords individuals in the United States certain rights. If you are illegal in the US, there are rights that are not accorded to you, I get that. The US has to protect its borders, I get that as well. But we are also called to be compassionate. We are supposed to extend a helping hand when someone is going through something.” Her comments came weeks after Trump sent shock waves across the internet by reposting a post from November 8 by his ally Tom Fitton, the head of the conservative Judicial Watch organization. The President-elect has also lined up several immigration hardliners to serve in key Cabinet positions, including South Dakota Governor Kristi Noem.  Noem was picked to be Homeland Security secretary pending Senate confirmation.
