Kalonzo to File a Petition Against Ruto’s Government Over the Cancelled Adani Deals

Wiper Leader Kalonzo Musyoka has revealed that he will soon be moving to court to seek directives compelling the government to shed more light on what the Indian company contract cancellation means. Speaking during a church service at Jesus Teaching Ministry in Embakasi East, Kalonzo disclosed that he would be personally moving to court after the cancellation left some gaps Kalonzo noted that should the court grant the orders compelling the government to act on his petition, then Kenyans will get the chance to hear how the government benefited from the engagement with Adani. ”We have work to do now and we will not just be talking here and there, for example, we will be moving to the courts on November 27, so that we can get directions on what William Ruto’s cancellations mean,’’ Kalonzo declared. He moreover noted that the petition will seek to answer some of the questions Kenyans had raised in the past over the much interest that the government had invested in the deal. ”We are going to get them exposed. Let us pray that all the wrongdoings of the country will be put open and in the public so that every thief can be known for the nation’s complete healing,’’ he noted. Kalonzo’s declaration came a few days after President William Ruto gave orders directing the cancellation of Adani Jomo Kenyatta International Airport and Kenya Electricity Transmission Company contract talks that would see the Indian conglomerate take over the management of the infrastructures on concessionary terms.

Gachagua calls out Kenya Kwanza leaders for allegedly being afraid of President Ruto

Former Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua has called out all the Kenya Kwanza leaders for allegedly being afraid of President William Ruto. Speaking during a church service at the AIPCA Kangari in Kigumo, Murang’a County, the former DP told the church that he was among the only leaders who could openly call out the President when he felt some of Ruto’s decisions were detrimental to the citizens, citing the collapsed Adani deals as a classic example. “The Adani issue was the source of friction between myself and the President. In the Cabinet, I was the only one who could speak the truth. All others were afraid. When the president stared down at them, they all bowed down. Whenever Cabinet Secretaries were in disagreement, they used to ask me to tell the President. Nobody can tell the president this is not right.” He further disclosed that he was viewed as an enemy of progress whenever he tried to speak up about the Adani deal. “I told the president this Adani deal was plagued with flaws and the people did not want it, and he despised me for it. And it was put out to look like I was opposing government projects,” Gachagua said. According to the former DP, the government only cut ties with the Indian conglomerate because the United States government blew the whistle. Recently, there have been concerns over Gachagua’s safety after the former  DP claimed to have been trailed by unmarked cars on Thursday, November 21. Through his social media pages, the former DP said unmarked cars were parked outside his house before trailing him to the Presbyterian Church of East Africa (PCEA), Kerarapon.

Malava MP Malulu Injendi Criticises Catholic Bishops for Rejecting Ruto’s Donation

Malava Member of Parliament Malulu Injend has  criticised the Catholic Bishop following the rejection of the Ksh 5.8 million donation from President William Ruto and Nairobi Governor Johnson Sakaja. Speaking during an interdenominational prayer in Kericho County, the MP called out the top brass of the Catholic Church in Kenya over the rejection of president  Ruto’s donation. The MP further asked for forgiveness from the President on behalf of the Church noting that it was a shame for the Nairobi Archdiocese leadership to reject the President’s donations. ”We were ashamed and I would like to appeal to our bishops that you cannot do what you did to the President. May God forgive and bless you,’’ Injendi stated. According to Malulu, it was not right for the Catholic Church to reject the donations from the President even though it still had a lot of financial needs and challenges  that it still had not addressed. ”As you can see, I have my rosary on and that means that I am a Catholic. Mr President, we have a lot of requirements and needs as Catholics including buildings and other things,’’ he added. He moreover alleged that the financial assistance that the Catholic Church used to get from its headquarters in Rome, Italy, had since stopped therefore making it hard for the believers to fundraise on their own. ”The help and assistance we used to get from abroad, we no longer do not get it. It is these believers who instead bear the brunt. We were surprised after taking you on a tour of our church, it is a shame that you sacrificed your salary only for our bishops to sit and do what they did,’’ the MP noted. This comes after the catholic bishop refused ruto’s and Sakaja’s donation which was done  during a church service on Sunday, November 17. Ruto had donated Ksh 600,000 to Soweto Catholic church in Nairobi for choir members and Ksh2 million that would have been used to construct a priest’s house. Ruto had also promised to donate an additional Ksh3 million that would be channeled to the church’s account to purchase a church bus. During the event, Governor Sakaja donated Ksh 200,000 to the same church. However, Bishop Philip Anyolo of the Nairobi Archdiocese later released a harsh-toned statement announcing that the donations would not be accepted. “These funds will be refunded to the respective donors. Furthermore, the promised additional Ksh3 million for the construction of the Fathers’ house and the donation of a parish bus by the President is now declined,” Bishop Anyolo.

Through the Auxiliary Bishop of Nairobi Rev Simon Peter Kamomoe, the Catholics church weighed in on the menace, saying women should be protected. “In recent months, Kenya has witnessed a troubling pattern of women losing their lives in gruesome murders and under unclear circumstances. Such acts are not only a grave violation of human rights but also a deeply concerning trend that warrants urgent attention. We implore you to take the lead in safeguarding women in your midst. This act of care and protection is a reflection of our Christian values of love and respect for one another,” he asserted.
