Kipkenyo Ward Member of County Assembly (MCA), David Kimele Leting, on January 11, hosted a ceremony inviting his ward residents to celebrate scoring a mean grade of D- (Minus) in Kenya Certificate of Secondary Education 2024. The MCA was among the 962,512 candidates who sat for the recently released KCSE examinations after registering as a private candidate. Leting revealed that he had not attended any classes and had instead sat for the examination for the sake of attaining a KCSE certificate, thus the excitement for the D Minus. “I am ahead of over 480 candidates who have already wasted 15 years to go to school. I have never gone to any school, even tuition,” he noted. According to the MCA, he expected to score an E, so it was necessary to have the celebratory city. His results shared with the media consist of 4 Es in Mathematics, Geography, Chemistry, and English and two D minus in Kiswahili and Christian Religious Education. Moreover, his best-performing subject was Biology in which he scored a surprising C minus. “In Biochemistry, I scored C minus and nobody here received C minus because studies are very difficult. When I saw that Kiswahili was not bad, I told myself I would get an E Plus but many told me that that was not an available grade but I put in more effort and was so proud of scoring D minus.” In 2020 Leting sat for the Kenya Certificate of Primary Education and scored 150 marks out of 500. His results inspired him to take his education further, leading to the momentous results that he now believes have given him job security.

Identical Twins Score Same KCSE Grade

Will Emmanuel Isanda and Wayne John Isanda, identical twins, have once again demonstrated their academic prowess by earning identical A grades in the 2024 Kenya Certificate of Secondary Education (KCSE) examinations. The twins, Alliance Boys High School alumni, earned an A grade with 82 points. Will and Wayne have consistently defied the odds since the COVID-19 pandemic, when they excelled in their KCPE exams at Imperial Primary School in Kisii, scoring 415 and 412 marks, respectively.  At the start of their secondary education, the boys faced a major setback after losing their mother to rheumatoid arthritis. However, this tragedy did not deter them from pursuing their dreams. ” We were just as successful in the KCPE when the tragedy of losing our mother hit us. But we had to be strong and excel for her. We made a mantra for ourselves that every time we experience disaster, we recover our master,” Will said. Moreover, Will and Wayne are not strangers to success, they have always been scoring excellent and identical results since form one.  Everyone including their teachers always wondered how the two were able to score the same grades. “We don’t know how, there are times the results just tie, like this time around, both of us got an A of 82 points. It is shocking, and teachers always ask us how is this possible, and we tell them it’s just a twin thing,” Wayne noted. According to one of their family members, their success does not come as a shock since they are  hard workers who totally deserve the grades they got. Talking of how they succeed, the boys make sure they keep each other in check, including waking each other up and helping each other revise. About the future plans, the boys want to pursue neurology and cardiology respectively as they seek to mark their spot in the world.

UK Demands Immediate Investigations After Release of The 5 Abductees

The United Kingdom has recently urged President William Ruto’s administration to conduct swift and transparent investigations into the recent disappearances of youthful Kenyans. In a statement on Thursday, British High Commissioner to Kenya Neil Wigan noted that Kenya’s decision to address these abductions would demonstrate the country’s commitment to upholding fundamental rights. According to him, it would also boost the country’s position on the United Nations Human Rights Council (UNHRC) which Kenya leads. “We welcome the release of 5 Kenyans on 6 January, following their disappearance. Swift and transparent investigations into reported abductions will demonstrate Kenya’s commitment to fundamental rights,” Neil Wigan commented. The message comes barely three days after about five Kenyans who were reportedly abducted in December last year were found alive in different locations. Moreover, Wigan’s call for investigations comes just a day after the High Court in Nairobi summoned the Inspector General of Police Douglas Kanja and Directorate of Criminal Investigations boss Mohamed Amin to appear before it on January 27.

Morara Kebaso Breaks silence after Claims That He Files Nil Returns

Renowned Kenyan Activist Morara Kebaso has finally broken his silence after reports that the government had gone after him over unpaid taxes. In a statement January 9, Kebaso called out the public nature of the probe despite tax matters being a private matter. “Tax matters are private and confidential. I don’t know why mine is being investigated in the media.State agencies should not be weaponized to silence voices of truth and accountability. This is a clear attempt to push me to my knees so that I agree to collaborate with corrupt leaders in the mismanagement of our country.” According to the activist, the entire process was a political witchhunt which he believed was clear to Kenyans. “Kenyans are very wise they can differentiate a genuine tax investigation and a political witchhunt. I will continue to speak truth to power without fear.” Kebaso moreover distanced himself from a company namely Igrow Digital Enterprise stating that it was a youth group registered in 2014 by his campus mates but it never took off due to lack of funding. “For the record, I do not own Igrow Digital Enterprise. It is a youth group that we registered as schoolmates in 2014 when we were in the university. The business never started because we did not get the capital to start.  We hoped to get money from the government through the Youth Enterprise Fund but never got it.” His response came hours after it was reported that the taxman was going after his businesses over Ksh 27 million in unpaid taxes over three years. According to the report, Kebaso has three bank accounts for his real estate and furniture businesses and one registered to him.
