Former deputy president Rigathi Gachagua was  among the prominent figures who attended Lucy Wambui’s funeral.

The former DP did not fail to give his remarks when he was given a chance to say something and he started by disclosing that he has known the family of the late Lucy for 30 years stating that they have been good people to everyone.

“I have known the family for the last 30 years, and they have been loving to many people.”

Gachagua further described Wambui’s husband, Francis Ng’ang’a, as an inspiration, having risen from a car wash operator to importing luxury cars.

“He is a one-of-a-kind because 90% of motor vehicle dealers have a problem. If you agree with him to import a car for you, you will get exactly what you ordered – people here can bear testimony.”

According to Gachagua, Ng’ang’a and his late wife had immensely contributed to the church.

“He once gave me a bus and asked me to donate it to a parish of choice.’’

The former DP moreover called on the government to protect Kenyans from unscrupulous medical practitioners while condoling with Ng’ang’a.

“You and your kids know how heavy it is to lose her, as she’s a pillar to your family. We cannot pretend to know how hard it is. We pray that God gives you the strength to deal with it. Teach these boys to work with you, stay united as a family, and continue doing God’s work. We love and respect you.”

Gachagua also described Ng’anga as an honest friend, noting that his impeachment allowed him to be present for him.

“If something positive exists, we now have much time for friends. They are essential, and there are not many genuine ones. We have the chance to visit friends.”
