The law society of Kenya urges families and close relations of the abducted individuals to come forward with comprehensive and accurate information regarding the incident.

The Law Society of Kenya stated.

The LSK explained that data from families would help them document the circumstances surrounding each case of abduction and disappearance, initiate appropriate legal proceedings where rights violations have occurred and facilitate advocacy at both national and international forums to hold perpetrators accountable.

The LSK also reminded the government of its obligation to guarantee the freedom and security of the person and ensuring the rights of arrested individuals.

Any arrest or detention must strictly adhere to the rule of law and uphold the principles of transparency, accountability and human dignity.

LSK added.

According to LSK, the State’s silence on the abduction cases erodes the public trust to protect its citizens. Regarding this, the LSK have demanded the immediate disclosure of the location of the missing individuals or their unconditional release.

They further demanded the clarification of the missing person from the Inspector General of police or resignation promising to advocate for justice and accountability while seeking support from Kenyans such as the resignation of vehicles used to abduct the government opposers.
