Raha fest organisers have issued a strong statement blaming gatecrashers for the recent event disruptions.
In a statement, the Raha Fest organisers expressed their frustration and regret, noting that they had delivered on their promise of top-notch entertainment but were let down by a section of unruly Kenyans
“We write this admitting that the Raha Fest of 31st December 2024 might be our last event in Kenya. As a brand, we have never compromised on standards. We delivered on all promised entertainment and experiences, but some Kenyans failed us,” part of the statement read.

The organisers went on to recount their challenges throughout the year while hosting events featuring renowned artistes such as Davido, King Promise, Ruger, Ayra Starr, and Daliwonga.
They moreover explained how they strived to set a benchmark for world-class entertainment experiences in Kenya but were disappointed by a growing trend of entitlement among some individuals.
“Some Kenyans believe they should not buy tickets to events but are entitled to ‘occupy’ them. This trend is deeply worrying, posing immense danger to paying fans, artistes, organisers, and security personnel.”
According to them, the chaos on New Year’s Eve was caused by ticketless individuals who attacked gates, forced down barriers, and destroyed property, leaving security personnel with no choice but to intervene.
“We call for soul-searching at this point. What more can event organisers do in Kenya? The growing entitlement of a section of Kenyans failed us, and there are no winners, we are all worse off for it.”

The organisers apologised to fans and artistes whose experience was disrupted.
The concert involved Tanzanian artist Ali Kiba and Jamaican dancehall superstar Shenseea among other Kenyan artistes.
