Former Prime Minister Raila Odinga is among those who have continued to condemn President William Ruto’s administration over the surging cases of abductions in Kenya recently.
Speaking during a Christmas church service in Siaya County, Odinga termed the alleged abductions as primitive and backward.
Raila further called on the current regime to intervene and follow the rule of law in handling the negative online criticism.

“The issue of abducting innocent people is a primitive thing and is something very strange, we can not live in a country where people disappear or get abducted for no other reason. Many parents have been crying that their children were abducted the other day by some people who are unformed and we have never seen those children up to now.’’
He went on to demand the immediate release of all abducted Kenyans, adding that such incidents were strange in such a democratic country.
He also accused the government of taking the country back to the dreaded Moi era, questioning why abducted Kenyans were being taken to unknown places.
“These days you are being taken to unknown places, we want these kinds of primitive things not to happen in this country, it is completely unacceptable,” Odinga stated.
