Speaking during an interview with online media, the singer addressed the damaging rumours and cleared his name.
He stated that he left the event, which was held in Machakos, during the day as he had engagements in Nairobi while according to Diana, the phone was stolen during the evening hours.
The singer also requested Bahati and his wife Diana to help him clear his name online by addressing the rumours.
“Bahati, listen carefully, go online and address this issue with your wife. Clear my name in this issue.’’
Kasolo further revealed that Bahati himself had invited him to the grand event and due to this he needed him to clear his name as the allegations that he was a petty thief were damaging his reputation and source of livelihood.
“You invited me to Bolo’s event, not as a paid guest but out of respect. I am not an upcoming artist, and my family depends on my name just like your family depends on your Netflix proceeds. The phone was lost at night when people were drunk. I left earlier because I had a show in Nairobi. Kindly clear my name. Jina langu linategemea mtandao… Imeharibu brand yangu. Sahii siwezi pewa event. Ukiitwa mwizi utapewa event na nani? Utaenda wapi?.Familia ya mke wangu ni mapastors. I have a boss amabaye ameniajiri anaskiaje? Diana Maruahad had shared a video a day after the wedding noting that her phone had been stolen.
She even promised a handsome reward to the thief if they returned the device before the authorities tracked it down.
