The Uganda opposition leader denied the charges which postponed his trial until January 7th, 2024.

While speaking to BBC, Besigye’s wife Byanyima condemned the visitations restrictions as ‘cruel and inhumane’.

She also plans to camp outside prison on Christmas day with determination to see her husband and deliver food directly.

I’m not leaving Besigye’s food at the gate. I will see my husband because I don’t trust them with him for a single day.

Besigye’s wife said.

Uganda’s prison spokesperson Frank Baine Mayanja defended the ban claiming that it was necessary to prevent prison escape during this festive season.

He added that Christmas causes excitements and could lead to attempted breakouts.

With this, Besigye’s wife has vowed to monitor Besigye’s situation closely as she claims she does not trust those who abducted him.
