President William Ruto has broken silence on the rising cases of abductions.
The Head of State spoke during the gracing of the Odi Genowa Governor’s Cup 2024 at the Raila Odinga Stadium in Homa Bay County.
While speaking during the event, the President urged parents to monitor and protect their children.

These children are a blessing.
The Head of the Republic said.
As a government we will do our part, and the issue of abductions will end in the country so the youth can live in harmony and the youth can become people of integrity and respect to move the country forward.
He added.
Still at the event, the President made lofty pledges to the people of Homabay starting with Ksh. 2 million cash gifts to all 66 teams that participated in the tournament.
While 29 people are still missing, a total of 82 people has been abducted since the anti-finance bill protests in June.
Ruto’s remarks on abductions came after pressure on the government from several firms including Law Society of Kenya and the Kenya National Commission of Human Rights.
