Agnes Ngetich Makes History as Second, Kenyan to Join Michael Jackson’s Grand Slam Track

Agnes Ngetich has signed with Grand slam track as a racer.

The athlete signed the Grand slam track accompanied by Ethiopian athlete Tsigie Gebreselama.

This is ahead of the professional track league’s ceremonial season in 2025.

Ngetich is a world record holder in marathon.

The world record holder won a bronze medal at the 2023 world cross country championship.

She also won the 10km road race by finishing with 28 seconds in Valencia in January 2024.

The athlete made history for the second-fastest women’s half marathon performance in history.

Grand Slam Track is a professional track and field league which was announced this year.

The first season is set to take place from April to September 2025.

The league will take place in Los Angeles, New York City, Kingston, Jamaica and Birmingham.

It will future 48 athletes including Olympians, champions and top 10 ranked racers.

The athletes will be divided into six groups based on their event such as short prints and long prints among others.

They will earn points based on their finishing position in each of their two races at each slam.

The athletes will receive salaries and earn prize money for their performances at the Grand Slam track.
