DP Kindiki warns Leaders who take his soft-spoken character for granted

Deputy President Kithure Kindiki has recently sent a stern warning to leaders who take his quietness, restraint, and soft-spoken character for granted. Speaking during a Thanksgiving service in Embu, the second in command revealed that although he may remain quiet mostly, he was focused on delivering the promises of Kenya Kwanza to Kenyans and that he should be respected. “I don’t talk much, that is who I am, sometimes people look at me and wonder how I got here because of how quiet I am. They look at how I speak and think that I am timid, but that’s not the case. Leadership is not about arrogance, voice, and other things, leadership is about delivering, so let us respect each other here. There is a difference between leadership and populism,” the DP stated. He went on to point out how he was taken for granted when he was the Interior CS and people undermined his capabilities of stemming crime, further revealing that he was not going to change his character and make noise. “They kept on saying I couldn’t deal with bandits in Kerio Valley, but today, there is peace in Kerio Valley due to the work I did there. If you have anger issues, don’t bring it to leadership, please, let’s respect each other. I repeat, let’s respect each other. I have given you all the respect, but you must also respect me,” the DP warned. Kindiki moreover challenged the leaders who have been criticizing the government to remain quiet if they could not offer solutions to the issues they condemned.

Gachagua Responds to MP Ichung’wah after the Alleged Abduction claims

Former Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua has responded to claims of sponsoring abductions of Kenyans just a few hours after  the National Assembly Majority Leader Kimani Ichung’wah made the claims. Speaking during the funeral service of the son of former Embu Speaker Lenny Kivuti, Eric Mutugi, Gachagua slammed those accusing him of sponsoring the abductions, stating that the government is finding it had to contain his sincerity on key issues. Gachagua went on to termed Ichung’wah’s  accusations as mere diversionary tactics employed by the state. ”The problem with Kenya is the issue of constant lies and that is probably why I was axed from the government because I stood for the truth,” Gachagua asserted. He asked the government to give closure on what exactly was happening and on the whereabouts of the recently abducted Kenyan youths. ”The president recently said that there was no evidence of abductions almost five times. I have just seen his political machine, that Member of Parliament he uses, lying to people that I am the one abducting people,” he added. He also challenged the government to stop viewing Kenyans from a different intelligence perspective and instead release the seven abducted youths. ”The people of Kenya are very intelligent. And you people are running out of lies. You have lied to the point that you have started believing in your own lies. So, those young men who have been abducted here, who are they? Who are they? Those young men have been abducted.”
