Jaguar appointed as a member of Kenya’s Commission on Administrative Justice

Kenyan politician Charles Njagua, known as Jaguar, has been appointed as a member of Kenya’s Commission on Administrative Justice (CAJ). The announcement was made by the State House on November 12, 2024, where President Ruto named the former MP to fill one of the two vacant CAJ positions.  Dorothy Jemator Kimengech was also selected from a pool of 278 applicants narrowed down to these two final candidates. In 2017 the former MP entered politics winning the Starehe Parliamentary seat under the Jubilee party. However, he lost his seat in August 2022 while running under the UDA party. Apart from being a prominent politician, Jaguar is also an entrepreneur, and musician he also holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Peace Studies and Conflict Resolution from Mt. Kenya University.

Evans Kapkea Has Been sworn in as the new Uasin Gishu deputy governor

Evans Kapkea has been sworn in as the new Uasin Gishu deputy governor at the High Court in Eldoret. This comes after the former Deputy Governor John Barorot resigned after serving for two years under Governor Jonathan Bii. His swearing-in furthermore follows a Gazette notice by the County Secretary and Chairperson of the Assumption of Office of the Deputy Governor Committee, Edwin Bett, which announced that the swearing-in ceremony would be held on November 14th at the county headquarters. “The swearing-in ceremony of Evans Kipruto Kapkea as the Deputy Governor of Uasin Gishu County shall be held on Thursday, 14th November 2024 at Uasin Gishu County Headquarters starting at 10.15 a.m.’’ The Uasin Gishu Governor Jonathan Bii appointed Kapkea as the new deputy governor following a court ruling on October 14. Eldoret High Court Presiding Judge Justice Reuben Nyakundi had ordered the Independent Electoral and Boundaries Commission and Governor Bii to gazette Kapkea as the newly appointed Deputy Governor of Uasin Gishu County. According to Governor Bii, former DG Barorot resigned after securing a job with an international organisation. Bii moreover described Barorot as a friend adding that they had several meetings before his resignation.

Renowned Kenyan YouTuber Fredrick Marwa and his Argentinian girlfriend Ro Cabrera have announced the birth of their first child together. Taking to their social media, the couple  revealed that their son Maisha was born on 11th November. Marwa went ahead to wish his son a long healthy life as he welcomed him into the world. “11/11 We finally meet you. Welcome to this world Maisha. As your name means it, you are bringing so much life to us. We Love you, our baby boy .”  Few Months ago, Marwa and Rocio travelled to Argentina for the birth of their child. Marwa had disclosed that he wanted his first born to be born in Argentina since there are several factors to consider. The reason behind that decision, according to them, is that the Kenyan passport is limited while that of Argentina will allow the child to travel to more countries. Marwa also shared that Rocio wanted to be close to her family especially her mother during the labour and delivery period.

Jackie Matubia shares intimate details about her past relationship with her Baby Daddy Blessing Lung’aho.

In a recent interview with Dr Ofweneke, Jackie disclosed that she never wanted to marry Blessing,noting that she had made her stance on marriage clear from the very beginning. According to her, she can not at all call the union she had with Blessing Lung’aho a marriage, maintaining that her first marriage was real.  “My wake-up call was my second marriage,” she said. “I wouldn’t even call it a marriage because we never really went through with it in the true sense. My first marriage was real, and I remember telling Blessing that I didn’t want marriage, didn’t want to walk down the aisle.” Jackie further noted that her  perspective about her then marriage shifted after the birth of her daughter, Zendaya.  Reflecting on her experience as a mother, she acknowledged that becoming a parent made her evaluate the relationship differently, especially in terms of the well-being of her child. “When I got Zendaya, I had a moment of clarity. I kept asking myself if this was the life I wanted for myself. But I was constantly worried about what people would say.” Talking about being a single mother, she disclosed that she was the one who asked Blessing Lung’aho to leave  their home fully aware of the challenges ahead as a single mother. But despite her efforts to encourage Blessing to stay active in Zendaya’s life, Jackie felt disheartened when he did not engage as she had hoped. “When I told the dad to go, he left. In my head I was like this is not the first time to raise a kid out of marriage and coparent. And I fought. Mimi na kiburi yangu, God knows I fought for the dad to be in the daughter’s life. But he did not. And you cannot force a man. I tried… And was like I can only do much.’’ Jackie moreover disclosed that she had initially contemplated legal action to secure support for her daughter and She took the matter to court, but in the end, reconsidered her decision. “I was crying because I failed this little girl. All she did was just be born… Watu waliniambia niende kotini… Nilienda. I was very bitter. I wanted this person to suffer. Former United States Ambassador to Kenya Meg Whitman meets a Kenyan top government official a day after her resignation

Meg Whitman has recently met a Kenyan top government official just a day after her resignation as the US ambassador to Kenya. Taking to her social media, Whitman revealed a meeting with Monica Juma, the National Security Adviser to President William Ruto. Whitman in her post thanked the security advisor and lauded her role as critical to the success of the diplomatic relations between the two nations. “Ambassador Monica Juma has been critical to the success of the United States and Kenya relationship in my time here. She is a true champion of Kenyan security and I will greatly miss working with her.’’ However, the details of the meeting remain unclear, with the post marking the first time Whitman has spoken up since her announcement on Wednesday that she had already submitted her resignation notice to President Biden. Her resignation came just a few days after Donald Trump won the US national elections. Kenyans who were unsatisfied with her relationship with the Kenya Kwanza Government had already started calling for her dismissal. Diana Marua Considers Promoting Her Nanny Josephine to Personal Assistance

Kenyan content creator Diana Marua has revealed that she might soon be promoting one of her long-serving nannies to the role of personal assistant. In a video she shared on her socials, the content creator expressed her gratitude to Josephine and mentioned that she was considering a major upgrade for her role. According to Diana, she has been actively looking for a personal assistant for some time now and she had even tried to convince her younger sister Michelle to take up the role but she declined the offer. “Thank you to my nanny, soon-to-be PA, Josephine Kinuche; yes, I am upgrading her to become my PA.” The news of Josephine’s promotion comes a few days after another one of Diana’s nannies, Irene Nekesa, left the Bahati household. Irene, who had been with the family for a long time, recently shared that she left on good terms and that there was no bad blood between her and Diana. She moreover expressed gratitude for the opportunity to work with Diana and her family, saying that her departure was purely personal and amicable. Meg Whitman: US Ambassador to Kenya shockingly resigns

United States Ambassador to Kenya, Meg Whitman has resigned from her ambassadorial role days after Donald Trump was elected as the 47th President of the United States. while announcing her resignation, she revealed that she had already submitted her resignation letter to US President Joe Biden.  Meg Whitman went on to term her role as the US ambassador as an honour and privilege and that under her service, the United States was able to strengthen its partnership with Kenya. “From delivering emergency funding to alleviate catastrophic flooding in 2023 to the ongoing eradication of malaria, HIV, and MPOX, the US government prioritizes the health and welfare of our friends in Kenya.” Other notable achievements include the decision by Joe Biden’s administration to elevate Kenya as its first major non-NATO ally in sub-Saharan Africa. She further noted that the achievements reflected the importance of both countries’ ability to stand for each other and protect the shared democratic values and enhanced security. “Trade, jobs, and US investment in Kenya are at historic highs because of our efforts. We also responded to the skyrocketing demand for our consular services, reducing wait times for nonimmigrant visa appointments from more than two years to about two months.’’ She concluded by congratulating the incoming President Donald Trump even as she exuded confidence in the continued partnership between the US and Kenya. “Our Embassy benefits from highly qualified Kenyan and American employees who will continue their efforts under the leadership of Chargé d’Affaires Marc Dillard to advance the shared goals on which our bilateral relationship has long been grounded. Georgina Njenga Confirms She Okay after an alarming video of her arguing with man goes viral

Digital content creator Georgina Njenga has finally addressed a disturbing video of her that is circulating all around the social media.  In the now-deleted video, she appears visibly distressed, with blood on her forehead, as voices are heard in the background.  Georgina quickly clarified the context, assuring her followers that she was perfectly okay. Man who is  seen in the now-deleted videos is identified as ‘Arganton’ and is heard speaking in an agitated manner. The video shows the man appearing visibly upset, while Georgina, with what looks like a small injury on her forehead, is heard arguing back. The man, clearly frustrated, tells Georgina to leave his house and seek medical assistance.  “Ntapasua hii simu… Toka tu uende utibiwe. Mamako amekuja hapa amekulilia utoke kwani unataka kufa huku kwangu? Unataka kujingyonga hapa? Si ujinyonge ukufe basi.,’’ However, according to Georgina, the incident in the video had been a misunderstanding, not something intentional from anyone in the footage. She also mentioned that it was, in fact, an accident and not a purposeful act by anyone present in the scene. “Hey guys to all those people checking up on me, am very much okay. The video making rounds on social media is an old video that was an accident and it wasn’t done by him.”

A KCSE Candidate collapses after receiving several slaps from a Ministry of Education official

A Kenya Certificate of Secondary Education (KCSE) student at Sironga Girls High School  has recently collapsed in an exam room after receiving several slaps from a Ministry of Education official. According to a police report, the candidate was doing her examinations in the assigned exam room when officers checked the room to conduct a routine inspection. It’s alleged that the officer observed the student was chewing something that looked suspicious which prompted further probe. The officer approached the student and after interrogations, landed several slaps on the candidate after failing to obtain any exhibit.  The police report further indicated that  the student remained restless in class. However, as the examination came to an end at around 10 am the student collapsed. She was immediately rushed to the school dispensary for first aid where she was attended to and discharged.  The student was thereafter admitted to the hospital. The security and education officials visited the school to ascertain the matter which has since sparked public uproar. “Officials visited the school and established that during the morning examination session at around 9 am in room no 9 an official from the Ministry of Education (Quality Assurance) namely Beatrice Kendi made a snap check in the said room, upon entry she saw one female student chewing something which she suspected to be unauthorized material.’’ The Directorate of Criminal Investigations  detectives have launched investigations into the matter.

Huddah Monroe Quits Smoking Marijuana

Socialite Huddah Monroe has recently shared that her mental clarity has become a priority in her life. In an Instagram post, the socialite revealed she stopped using marijuana, which has since brought her a newfound sense of mental clarity. Huddah further noted that she has stopped drinking and now only drinks on rare occasions.  “I decided to stop smoking marijuana, and now I barely drink. Let me tell you, a clear mind is everything.’’ In June this year, Huddah had shared her thoughts on alcohol addiction, calling it a significant problem in Kenya and across Africa.  According to her, through personal reflection she discovered that alcohol made her feel angry, stubborn, and resentful although she once considered marijuana a better choice than alcohol, she has since stopped using it altogether. “These days, drinking is for celebrating, not for getting drunk and causing trouble… When I drink, I become someone else—angry, resentful, and argumentative. Everything annoys me when I’m drunk.’’  According to research, marijuana can impact mental clarity, especially with frequent or heavy use.
