Molo Residents Protest Demanding Justice for Activist Richard Otieno Who was found dead in after being attacked using an axe

Nakuru County residents took to the streets on Sunday carrying the body of a deceased activist, Richard Otieno, demanding justice for his murder. Activist Richard Otieno who is mostly known as Molo President, was reportedly found dead in Molo after being attacked using an axe by unknown assailants on Saturday night. Following the murder, the protestors stormed the mortuary where his body was being held and carried it out to the streets as they demanded answers. The protestors marched along the Njoro-Molo Road shouting for justice. The deceased was a youth leader and reportedly a fierce government critic. He was moreover an aspiring ward representative in the Molo Constituency before his untimely death. It is still unclear whether Otieno had gone missing before meeting his tragic death. His murder adds to a series of unexplained disappearances and deaths that have plagued the nation over the last months. Notably, barely two weeks ago, 24-year-old Ibrahim Hilal Mwiti, an activist who had been missing since November last year in Nairobi, was found dead in a mortuary in Thika. Mwiti had been missing for seven weeks before his dead body was found at the Thika Level Five Hospital.

Pastor Ng\’ang\’a‘s Message to Those Generating AI Images of Different Leaders in Coffins

Neno Evangelism church founder Pastor James Ng\’ang\’a has condemned the use of artificial intelligence to generate photos of leaders in coffins.  The man of God went on to caution a content creator against using his voice for comedic purposes.  According to Ng’ang’a some things are spiritual and should be prayed for. \”I\’m hurt. I\’m not happy. Some things are spiritual, so we can pray and help those children. I also remember that young content creator who usually wears a sufuria on his head while creating content using my sound. I had given a warning. I had said that some things are not good. I don\’t support generating an AI image of the king in a coffin. Young people, you must think twice. You can\’t ruin my name. A name that I built while in prison,\” he said.  Notably, president Ruto has once pleaded with the Kenyan youth opposing his government to desist from caricaturing leaders and generate AI photos of them inside coffins. President Ruto warned that the trend could morph into incidents of killings.  As a form of online activism, young people are expressing their dissatisfaction with President William Ruto\’s government by creating and sharing photos of him in a coffin.  Relating to the criticism of Ruto’s government, recently former president Uhuru has encouraged the Gen Z to continue fighting for their rights something that has not been received well by Ruto’s allies.

Boost For Ruto As Trump Pledges Support For Kenya\’s Mission In Haiti

US Secretary of State Nominee Macro Rubio has disclosed that the US President-elect Donald Trump might continue supporting the Multinational Security Support Mission in Haiti. This followed Trump\’s victory in the US 2024 elections where there had been uncertainties about the fate of the Haiti mission which was previously supported by Joe Biden\’s administration. This he said while speaking during the Senate Foreign Relations Committee. However, he suggested that restoring peace in Haiti would require the assistance from foreign partners. There are no easy answers, the Kenyans are there, and they deserve a lot of credit for being willing to take on that mission and in recent days missions from various countries have arrived. I don\’t think anyone has a master plan for how you fix that overnight.  The US Secretary of State said. You have to establish a baseline security and it\’s not going to come from a US military intervention. So, I would include foreign partners in the Western Hemisphere, who should be contributing to this effort to provide some level of stability and security in Haiti so that you can explore the opportunities to have a transitional government that has legitimacy that can ultimately lead to the conduct of elections.  He added. United States has provided more than Ksh.77 billion for the mission up to date despite facing opposition from the lawmakers in Parliament.
