The east Africa Portland Cement Company (EAPCC) has declined the approval of the new Managing Director appointed by President William Ruto.
The Head of State had appointed Bruno Oguda Obodha as the new Managing Director on December 20th, 2024.
The board held a meeting on Friday at the Company’s Nairobi offices and wrote to the Cabinet Secretary Ministry of Industry, Trade and Investment stating their conflict of interest towards the appointment of Mr. Oguda.

The conflict of interest was the fact that the appointee was doing business with Portland and was involved in fraud.
On the other had EAPCC had appointed Geoner Systems and Massel Real property on 22nd December 2023 as a selling agent of a portion of LR No.10424 which is currently ongoing.
It was noted that Mr. Oguda is the director of the company which they stated as a conflict of interest that should have been during the interview.
EAPCC further stated that there was a floated tender in a bid submitted which included forged documents where it was noted that Mr. Oguda is the director of the company.
With the undermining value, Mr. Mohammed Osman Adan emerged as the best candidate scoring 88.15 per cent whereas Mr. Oguda emerged the second.
