President Ruto Promises Ksh.100M Investment in Siaya’s Fish Landing Site

President William Ruto has pledged to build  Ksh. 100 million fish landing sites in Siaya County.

This he said during his tour in the Nyanza region.

The Head of State attended the Piny Luo Cultural Festival held at the Jaramogi Oginga Odinga Stadium.

As part of carrying this culture and tradition to the next level, we will build a fish landing site at cost of ksh. 100 million to support the fishing community. As we celebrate this culture, we know the culture is evolving. 

The Head of State said.

The President officially opened the Ksh. 400 million Ramogi Campus assuring that it will admit students in January.

We have gazetted two cultural heritage sites here in Siaya. Ramogi forest is now officially certified cultural heritage and Jaramogi Oginga Odinga Moselium which was gazetted earlier. 

The Head of the Republic added.

President Ruto also noted that the government is accessing other 7 sites that have historical, cultural and traditional significance in Siaya with the possibility that they meet the threshold for administration to gazette.

The ministry of Culture and Heritage is working with the counties to make sure we have the sites which will act as Beacons of culture and heritage. 

The Head of State further said.

The Piny luo cultural festival is a vibrant and colorful celebration of the rich cultural heritage of the Luo people, one of the largest ethnic groups in Kenya.

It an event that occurs annually that aims at unity, identity and pride for the Luo people.
