Gerald Mwangi died while at Kenyatta National Hospital where he was admitted immediately after he was involved in the road accident.
Mwangi is alleged to have suffered multiple organ failure shortly after one of his legs’ amputation.
“Gerald died at around 10:30 pm on Thursday, October 10. He was at the critical unit for close to a week after the accident. His heartbeat was low, and, therefore, he could not be taken to the theatre. Blood was not flowing to his body, and one of the legs started to decompose, leading to an amputation.’’
His death came a few hours after the family had appealed for blood donation and financial help for his treatment.
Gerald rose to fame after his video collecting fare in a Supermetro mat went viral and people could not help but wonder whether he is really a makanga.
The late had a degree in Catering but lack of employment pushed him to work as a makanga.
In a previous interview, he had noted that the job enabled him to afford an above average lifestyle for him and his family.
