Furaha City Fest on Saturday, 7 December night turned into a dramatic spectacle when Kenyan singer Willy Paul was allegedly mistreated.
Taking to his Instagram account during the event Willy Paul voiced his frustration, claiming that Tanzanian artists were given undue priority over Kenyan performers.
“Tanzanian artistes are being given priority at this event. This is sad. Why are Kenyans being disrespected in front of Bongo musicians?” he wrote.

The Kenyan artist went on to disclose the mistreatment.
“I’m being mistreated at the event. Wanaweka Tanzanians waperform. Wanachange vitu last minute. Why are Kenyans allowing this?”
A video circulating online shows the crowd chanting Willy Paul’s name, effectively halting Diamond’s attempt to take the stage thus Diamond Platnumz did not perform as scheduled.
The drama reportedly stemmed from changes in the performance order.
The Tanzania singer Diamond, who was expected to close the show, reportedly wanted to perform earlier.
However, Fans at the event expressed their support for Willy Paul.
The event, which included performances from Mejja, Khaligraph Jones, Zuchu, Rayvanny, and Diamond Platnumz, faced organizational challenges that left fans and performers disgruntled.
