Maverick Aoko found Near Kenya-Tanzania Border, Rushed to Hospital

Renowned Kenyan blogger Scophine Aoko Otieno alias Maverick Aoko has finally been found after missing for a while. Maverick Aoko’s aide posted a statement on the blogger’s X social media account revealing that the journalist had been traced to the Kenya-Tanzania border, where she was found alive. The aide further disclosed that immediately after she was found, Aoko’s family was informed about her presence before she was rushed to the hospital.  According to the statement, Aoko was taken to the hospital by an unknown person who claimed to have found her outside their gate. “She’s been found at the Kenyan-Tanzania border. Her family was called from the hospital. She was taken there by an unidentified person who said they found her outside their gate.Don’t know much at the moment, but the father is on his way there. I will keep you updated. Thank you for standing with her Aide.’’ Despite the reports of being found alive, police officers were yet to establish the authenticity of the matter despite initial efforts by the security officers to trace the blogger who went missing in late October. Kenyans, particularly those on the X platform noted with concern the lack of activity on Aoko’s account. Earlier this week, a post was shared on her account by a user who identified themselves as Aoko’s aide. The aide went ahead to provide an account of Aoko’s last events before she went missing. The aide further noted that before her alleged disappearance, Aoko lived at her rural home and only travelled to Nairobi on rare occasions, particularly when she needed to attend her court sessions.  According to the blogger’s assistant, Aoko was forced to attend court sessions after she was charged with allegedly posting fake information on her X account but had been released on a cash bail of Ksh100,000. “Hi, this is Aoko’s aide. I’m tweeting using her account with the blessings of her dad. After her arrest, she opted to stay with family upcountry only going to Nairobi for meetings & Court.’’ Upon her return to Nairobi two weeks ago, the aide noted that Aoko reportedly found her door had been broken at the hinges, causing her to question the motive and despite the incident, Aoko kept the information confidential to avoid drawing attention. The aide noted that Aoko was later interviewed by the AFP, a French news outlet about her arrest ordeal and the continued threats she received. “After her tweet on Mr. “F”, she went incognito, which we (family and friends) thought it normal, perhaps she just wanted to confuse enemies,” the aide alleged.

Content creator Whitney has recently confirmed that they have not reconciled with Warren after speculation circulated around the social media that they are back together. Taking this to her YouTube channel, Whitney appeared together with Warren  and she further explained that despite their separation, Warren is a dedicated father who regularly visits their son. “One thing is that we are not back together. We don’t stay together, but Baba Lee comes to visit baby Lee a lot. Since he’s a supportive dad, why should I keep him away from his kid?” Warren also talked and he went ahead  to acknowledge that there was a need to make decisions thoughtfully, especially for their child’s wellbeing. He further emphasised the importance of not making impulsive choices and stated that they are committed to finding the best path forward. “We are still solving issues between me and Mama Lee because this is a long process. It’s not a decision that you just wake up and make because right now, we have a baby. If we just make rush decisions, we might end up hurting him. I took a break because the things that were happening were too much for me, and I didn’t want to make any rash decision while I was still angry. Mama Lee and I have had days when we talk. We’re also looking for a therapist, so that we can make the right decisions about where things go from here.” Whitney Muniko and Warren Frank recently made headlines after Warren revealed Whitney’s private conversation with a friend. While Warren shared his side of the story openly, Whitney chose to remain silent. The two have a  child together.

High Court Approves Kindiki Swearing In As The Deputy President

The High Court in Nairobi has recently lifted the conservatory orders that stopped the appointment and swearing-in of Kithure Kindiki as the deputy president replacing Rigathi Gachagua. The three-judge bench noted that staying the conservatory orders would immensely hamper the operations of the government as mandated by the constitution. According to Justice Anthony Mrima, the public interest and constitutional provision demanded that the office of the deputy president should not remain vacant. “We are convinced and find that the current constitutional framework does not envision any scenario in which the office of the DP would remain vacant except during the brief period required to fill a vacancy. The applications for conservatory orders are hereby disallowed. The conservatory orders on October 18, 2024, in Kerugoya High Court are hereby discharged and set aside.’’ The ruling comes after lawyers representing the National Assembly led by former Attorney General Githu Muigai urged the three-judge bench to lift the conservatory orders to pave the way for a swearing-in. On October 11, the High Courts in Nairobi and Kerugoya had  issued conservatory orders stopping the appointment and swearing-in of Kithure Kindiki as the DP.
