MP Sudi Questions CS Justin Muturi After The Abductions Expose

Kapseret MP Oscar Sudi has hit out at Public Service Cabinet Secretary Justin Muturi after an expose that unearthed the government official behind abductions in the country. In a recent statement, Sudi lashed out at CS Muturi, accusing him of clinging to political relevance and questioning the timing of his decision to expose the facts surrounding enforced disappearances in Kenya. “This desperate move, made now that your political career has waned, is a clear blackmail attempt. The timing is highly suspicious, revealing a cowardly man clutching at straws for political expediency,” he noted. MP Sudi moreover questioned the motive behind the abduction of Muturi’s son at the height of the June-August Gen Z-led protests claiming that they were ‘agemates’. “In regards to your son’s woes, who is my age mate, kwani alishikwa bure??” Sudi quipped. Sudi’s statement comes after the CS claimed that the National Intelligence Service (NIS), under the leadership of Director General Noordin Haji, was behind the abductions of Kenyans. Muturi  laid these facts bare while recording a statement at the Kilimani Police Station on Tuesday, January 14. The CS had earlier hit out at the government over his son’s abduction stating that minimum effort was made in regards to the discovery of his son’s whereabouts. In his explosive 3-page statement, Muturi revealed that it took a personal meeting with President William Ruto to finally ascertain the whereabouts of his son, Leslie Muturi.  This followed a strenuous operation led by Muturi, which included reaching out to former Inspector General Japhet Koome, former Interior CS Kithure Kindiki, Interior PS Raymond Omollo, and Anti-Terrorism Police Unit (ATPU) director Kiprotich Mohamed, all of which proved futile. According to the CS, he openly speculated to Ruto that the NIS was holding his son, though the President was initially apprehensive. Muturi disclosed that Ruto confronted Noordin Haji on whether the NIS was involved in Leslie’s abduction.
