Wanjiku Mburu wants help to rescue her brother who has been abducted in Somali According to her, the brother was abducted in March 2014. Kenyan actress Wanjiku Mburu who is popularly known as Mama Baha from a popularCitizen TV’s drama show Machachari has recently appealed to the government to help her family rescue the missing brother who was abducted in Mogadishu Somali in 2014. Via her TikTok account, the actress shared that in the past she had written a letter to former President Uhuru Kenyatta appealing to get help. She went on to ask Kenyans to push the government to take the necessary action. The brother was abducted alongside his cousin in Mogadishu. Wanjiku went on narrating the heartbreak she encountered after receiving a call from her brother several years down the line. According to her, the brother told her he was being held in captivity. All this while, the brother said he has been in a cell, cuffed and his movements limited. The last time he had called the family was in 2014, shortly after he had been abducted. ‘’He went missing in January 2014 and in March he called us for a brief moment and shared to us what had happened and since then we have not heard from him.’’ She also narrated how she came to know about the abduction of her brother by highlighting that her father called her frequently asking where she was. Concerned over the tone her father was using, she inquired from her dad what was wrong, who subsequently informed her that her brother had contacted him and requested to speak with her. After which the actress remained standby and the brother then called her and informed her that he had been locked up in a prison, in solitude and unable to communicate with the outside world. ‘’I received a call with a number from Somali and normally guys I don’t receive calls from unknown numbers but this one I answered and heard a voice that I had not heard for 10 years speaking while sober minded, Shii, it is Kajijo(George), have you forgotten me already? I told him how I can forget you yet there is not a moment, a day or an hour that I don’t think about you.’’ The actress further noted that the call from her brother has been tough on her mentally. The revelation that he has over the years been held in a tiny cell not knowing what day or year it is has particularly been hard on her and their family. The brother, according to her narration, informed her that his abductors had kidnapped him over the move by the Kenyan government to send troops to Somalia in an attempt to restore peace. She has therefore requested President William Ruto to help her family bring back her brother home.

The missing athlete Clement Kemboi has been found dead. The Kenyan athletics fraternity has been plunged into mourning for the second time in less than 24hr following the death of Clement Kemboi and Kipyegone Bett. Clement Kemboi’s death confirmed after his body was found in Koisungur, Iten, Elgeyo Marakwet County. According to Elgeyo Marakwet Police Commander Peter Mulinge, the athlete’s body was found hanging on a rope tied to a tree near the St Patrick High School farm in Koisungur. The athlete is believed to have died by suicide. The late specialized in the 3000m steeplechase, he first showed the world what he is good at in 2005 when he won the Africa Games as a teenager and after 6 years he won his first international circuit at the 2011 Weltklasse in Biberach and in 2015 Clement also won his first international medal. Kemboi’s death comes hours after Kenyans were coming to terms with the death of another athlete Kipyegon Bett. Just days earlier, another retired marathon champion Samson Kandie lost his life after an attack near his home in Eldoret.

Athlete Kipyegone Bett has passed away after battling an illness. The 26 years old athlete was mostly known from the 2016 world U20 championship in the 800m race. Kenyan athlete Kipyegon Bett on 6th October mid-day passed away while battling an illness at the Tenwek Hospital in Bomet County where he had been undergoing medication. The late Kipyegone was a world champion mostly known from the 2016 world U20 in the 800m race. According to Purity Kirui who is the sister to the late, Kipyegone was unwell in the past and was once admitted to the AIC Litein Hospital as an outpatient before his condition deteriorated and was transferred to Tenwek Hospital where he passed away. “He has been unwell for about a month and was treated at AIC Litein Hospital as an outpatient. On Saturday his condition deteriorated and was referred to Tenwek Hospital for further test.’’ Purity has further revealed that his brother’s condition had deteriorated, and as a family, they were prompted to seek further medical assistance in a bid to save his life. The late also went down the athletics history books when he won a bronze medal in the men’s 800m race during the 2017 World Athletics Championships. He had also won a silver medal in the 800m race at the 2017 World Athletics Relay Championships. He was however banned from athletics in 2018 and his career affected after he was accused of doping and banned for four years for using doping substances and after the 4 years, he made a comeback to the track in 2022 and made a performance appearance at the 400m hurdles in the Kenya Track Meeting where he finished third.

Former marathon champion was killed by unknown people. The 53 years old retired marathon champion was found dead near his home in Eldoret. The former marathon champion Samson Kandie was killed by unknown assailants near his home in Eldoret, Uasin Gishu County. The former marathon champion was found severely beaten and tied up outside his home. According to his daughter Vienna Kandie, they discovered Samson’s body after the mother had called him around 7:30 pm and he noted that he was on his way back home yet he never arrived and after calling him hours later, a strange voice on the other end of a phone call directed the family to look for him behind their home’s toilet and that’s where they found the body of the late. The late Samson Kandie rose to fame for his outstanding performances in marathon races across the world, including the 1999 Berlin Marathon where he set his personal best of 2:08:31. Kandie’s death has highlighted the vulnerability of athletes who have brought honor to the nation. Many now question why such icons do not receive better protection from the government. Ezekiel Kemboi is among those who have expressed their anger and frustration at the lack of security for athletes who seems to have become easy targets for criminals. “We just buried another athlete recently, and now Kandie. Kasmuel is among those who have been against Ruto’s government and he has gained a lot of support from Kenyans. Mombasa governor Nassir records a statement related to the rape case of blogger Bruce Johns. This comes a few days after he held a press conference to distance himself from the case. Mombasa county Governor Abdulswamad Nassir has presented himself before the Directorate of Criminal Investigations in Mombasa office to record a statement concerning the gang rape of Mombasa-based blogger Bruce John. Talking to the press after recording his statement, the governor affirmed that he was ready to present his mother to the detectives too if she was ever summoned. He also insisted that he had not been summoned by the DCI but had made a unilateral decision to present himself before the DCI as an example. “I brought myself here on my own will because there is no one above the law. That cannot be. I have brought myself here as an example.” The governor did not fail to advocate for the justice of Bruce John and urged the detectives to hurry up and solve the case. His statement comes after Bruce had recorded a TikTok Video criticizing the Governor both in his personal life and his leadership style. Bruce was tortured and gang-raped with the entire ordeal captured on camera with a threat to release the footage if he was ever to speak on it. The Governor had previously held a press conference distancing himself from the case for the first time and even alluded to receiving 800 messages from Bruce which he never replied to and him breaking into his mother’s home.
