Ole Sapit

Bishop Ole Sapit Advises The Senate Ahead Of Gachagua’s Impeachment

Ole Sapit wants the senate to carefully look into Gachagua’s impeachment motion. The archbishop has of late been advocating for peace mostly advising leaders to do what is right. Bishop Jackson Ole Sapit of the Anglican Church of Kenya has recently advised the Senate to tread with caution over the impeachment of Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua. Speaking during a service held to honour Bishop David Mutisya at ACK St. Peters Pro-Cathedral in Garissa County, Ole Sapit called on elected Senators to carefully interrogate if the impeachment motion before them was based on merit. “The Senate has been given a mandate as the upper house to hear and determine the impeachment case in a way of creating checks and balances after Parliament voted on the motion. They should look into the case carefully.” Bishop Ole Sapit  further asked the public leaders to undertake audits like the one Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua was subjected to. “Why don’t we find a way to conduct audits on every elected leader, the way Gachagua was forced to undergo so that we can know those who have taken public funds and abused their positions, so that we can promote responsibility to all of us.’’ According to him, there is a huge trust deficit in leadership in the country which slows service delivery and impedes justice. “We are living at interesting times, no leader or very few leaders in our dispensation today both at national, county and church can be able to invite people and publicly ask them to testify what they have done for we have had a deficit of being trustworthy. We are very eager to point fingers at others while we are equally guilty as charged for greed has taken over.” He went on to condemn greed as a vice that robs the people of their rightful share in the country noting that politicians are in haste to accumulate wealth illegally.  “What we are seeing around us is a spirit of amassing wealth at the expense of others.” Ole Sapit concluded by urging leaders to do a personal accountability test and live with dignity stating that peace and love are the only way out.

Ruth Chepng’etich will be Pocketing Millions After Breaking A World Record

Ruth Chepngetich put her name in the history books after winning at the Chicago Marathon with a world record time of 2:09:57. She is now set to pocket  millions as a reward. Kenya’s marathon champion Ruth Chepng’etich is set to receive her pay reward after winning the women’s record at the Chicago marathon. Ruth made her world record dream come true by clocking 2:09:57 and becoming the first woman in history to go under 2:10.  The previous record was 2:11:53 set by Ethiopian Tigst Assefa. The 30 years old widened the gap at the 25-kilometre mark and despite slowing down towards the end of the race, she commendably stayed in a pace which would guarantee a sub-2:10 finish. With her victory, Chepng’etich has established herself as the best female marathoner in the world. Typically, top finishers in both the men’s and women’s categories set to pocket $100,000, equivalent to Ksh12.88 million. However, the prize purse becomes heftier for runners who break the record so Chepng’etich will likely pocket upward of USD 150,000 or KSh 19.2 million for her heroics in Chicago.
