Ruto provides a clear picture of the government’s efforts to improve healthcare access through the Taifa Care program

Speaking during the Jamhuri day celebration at Uhuru Garden Nairobi, president william Ruto, took time to provide a clear picture of the government’s efforts to improve healthcare access for all Kenyans through the Taifa Care program. According to the president, the government had already made significant strides in the transition towards universal healthcare. This is part of a broader effort that has already seen 5.6 million citizens moved from the National Health Insurance Fund (NHIF) to this new, expansive system. “Under Taifa Care, our inclusive, universal, efficient, and transparent healthcare service model, we are implementing a transition on an unprecedented scale. We have successfully transitioned 5.6 million citizens from the National Health Insurance Fund and registered 11 million Kenyans under the Social Health Insurance Fund. This means that, in just two months, 11 million Kenyans who previously lacked access to healthcare services are now registered, with the registration process going on full steam in every part of Kenya.” The President moreover commended counties like Kirinyaga, Nyeri, Bomet, Embu, and Lamu for their exceptional efforts in registering citizens under the program. He also urged citizens from counties such as Marsabit, Garissa, Mandera, West Pokot, and Turkana to mobilise and take full advantage of this opportunity. He further addressed the key challenges faced by previous systems by accurately determining the cost of healthcare services and products, ensuring that resources are properly allocated for equipment and facility improvements. The head of state also highlighted the scale of this project, noting that no public service delivery initiative in Kenya’s history has been as ambitious as Taifa Care. The program aims to provide efficient, effective, affordable, and sustainable healthcare to all citizens. “No public service delivery project of this scale and ambition has ever been undertaken in the history of our country. We are confident that we will quickly surpass the 16.5 million citizens so far registered and provide all Kenyans with high quality healthcare that is efficient, effective, affordable and sustainable.” Ruto encouraged citizens who have already registered to share their positive experiences, as many find that the system addresses their concerns and meets their healthcare needs.

This he spoke after attending the 4th Pastoralist Leadership Summit in Wajir County on Tuesday 10th December 2024. While responding to them, he described them as possessed by evil spirits, mad, unreasonable and stupid. The dissidents were opposing the government’s plan to roll out a nationwide vaccination program that targeted 22 million heads of cattle and 50 million goats and sheep as of next year January. Moses Kuria praises former President Uhuru Kenyatta for agreeing to meet with President Ruto.

Senior State House advisor Moses Kuria has praised former President Uhuru Kenyatta for agreeing to meet and close ranks with President William Ruto. Kuria has also announced that he was considering returning to the Jubilee Party following the meeting between Ruto and Uhuru, which he termed as a successful endeavor. According to Kuria, after thoughtful reflection, he has since realised that he errored in leaving Jubilee to form his own Chama Cha Kazi (CCK) revealing that he will convince Uhuru to be the party leader. He added that his quest to return to the party stems from the need to unify the Mt Kenya region under one strong political party before the country breaks into the subsequent general elections. ”The Mt Kenya region, like all other regions, deserves a strong political voice. It is our imaginable right. For all the good and bad lessons we have learnt, it was a mistake to leave the Jubilee Party. However, it is not too late.we will now embark on bringing all the political parties with a footing in the region together under the Jubilee Party. We did it in 2016 when we dissolved parties to form Jubilee. We will do it again. Jubilee under President Kenyatta as the party leader is the way to go. Chama Cha Kazi and I will devote all our energies to that endeavour,” Kuria. He also urged Uhuru, Raila, and Ruto to work together and revive the stalled Building Bridges Initiative(BBI), which collapsed after a court ruling that declared it null and void. ”Firstly, we can no longer depend on handshakes and personal meetings to make us feel safe in our country. The frequent handshakes and artificial formations have vindicated President Kenyatta and Prime Minister Raila on the BBI initiative. They were right and we were wrong. I urge President Ruto, President Kenyatta, and Prime Minister Odinga to close ranks and lead the nation in picking from where BBI flopped and give this country a Constitution that speaks to the emerging realities of our nation and our society. BBI Season 2 is urgent and can not wait,” he noted.

Joho dismisses Claims that he betrayed Kenyans After accepting Ruto’s cabinet position

Mining Cabinet Secretary Hassan Joho has dismissed allegations that he betrayed Kenyans following his decision to accept President Ruto’s cabinet job. In a recent interview with Oga Obinna, Joho noted  that his decision to take the CS role was specifically to serve Kenyans. According to Joho, his position in government has allowed him to implement the promises his Azimio coalition made to Kenyans during the 2022 campaigns. Talking about his past criticism of President Ruto’s administration, the CS revealed that he had since changed his stance and that he currently recognises Ruto as his boss. “There is no betrayal whatsoever, it is what we can do now because we now have the opportunity. For instance, if we had succeeded, we could have done the same things we promised Kenyans. Ruto is now my boss and I regard him as the leader of the nation and we have a good relationship. We have worked together before in different spectrums of politics,” he noted. He moreover noted that those complaining against Ruto’s regime had no reason to speak against the current leadership. According to him, the government had put in place several measures to mitigate the challenges facing Kenyans.  He further urged members of the public to exercise patience as the government intensified efforts to come up with lasting solutions. “There are some great things that are being done, some of these things take time to show results, just like someone who plans things, there are some that take time while others short time,” Joho said. He also admitted to failing in his academics and explained that his previous setback in education would not stop him from progressing and serving Kenyans. “I admit that I failed in examinations but not in life. Despite failing my academics, I have struggled with life and overcame that. I am happy that I have not failed in life like I did in my exams.’’

In the recording, Kalonzo is heard discussing the appointment of National Liberal Party leader Augustus Kyalo Muli, selected by the Political Parties Liaison Committee as the Azimio representative on the IEBC selection panel. But if I do, do not record me and forward to Itumbi.People are desperate, absolutely desperate.I said Muli is one of us. He comes from my home county. He however maintains that he has little to do with the delays in reconstituting the IEBC, even as a court case involving his ally Ambassador Muli continues to drag on.
